Wester Derry Farm
Wester Derry farm lies at the edge of the Cairngorm National Park in Scotland on the border between the beautiful counties of Perthshire and Angus. This unspoiled corner of Scotland is an enchanting mix of rolling green hills, rugged heather-clad mountains, wooded valleys, rivers and waterfalls. Wester Derry farm is in the quiet little hamlet of Kilry, looking over to the beautiful Glenisla, it has 60 acres of farmland which has been established with species rich grassland to encourage biodiversity and it is therefore a haven for wildlife. The fields run down to the meandering water of the Kilry burn where in summer you can paddle or picnic. In winter the hill land provides a super ski/sledging slope.
With families in mind we have provided an enclosed garden area and give our guests use of the indoor games barn. Because we know how hard it is to find a holiday with something to suit the whole family we have designed the holiday house to provide a fun holiday for all the family.
Wester Derry is a super base to explore the countryside but also only a short journey in the car (40 minutes) to the fair city of Perth, gateway to the highlands and Dundee, city of Discovery (30 minutes). There are many super family days out we can recommend in our area.
Alyth, our nearest town is only 5 miles away and offers shops, restaurants and cafes. Blairgowrie, a further 5 miles has the nearest large supermarket and ample shopping, restaurants and take-aways.
For the outdoor enthusiasts there are beautiful walks, cycle rides right on the doorstep, there is loch and river fishing nearby and 3 super golf courses in Alyth. The fantastic ski centre at Glen Shee is only thirty minutes away by car.
