Great  self catering family holiday house

Wester Derry farm lies in Glen Isla at the edge of the Cairngorm national park in Scotland on the border between the beautiful counties of Perthshire and Angus. This unspoiled corner of Scotland is an enchanting mix of rolling green hills, rugged heather clad, wooded valleys, rivers and waterfalls. The house sits in the grounds of 30 acres of farmland which is predominantly species rich grassland sown to encourage biodiversity. The farm is a haven for wildlife. The property features an original waterwheel, housed in the adjacent mill building which will be used to provide a portion of the electricity supply to the house.

The hill land at Wester Derry offers lovely walks, stunning views and perfect picnic spots in summer and in winter, a super nursery slope for sledging and skiing. The lower fields on the farm run down to the Kilry Burn, which is fun for paddling and beginners brown trout fishing. The area is fantastic for outdoor activities, walking, angling, cycling and golfing and in winter is only a thirty minute drive from the Glen Shee ski centre. There is an indoor games barn for the guests with table tennis, table football, a pool table, a badminton net and a selection of children's ride on farm toys. This is a quiet rural retreat but only forty minutes drive from the fair city of Perth and thirty minutes from Dundee, the city of Discovery.
